Day 11.

So on facebook i started the november thankful days. and today is day 11. so that is why the title is what it is. Read below and see what im thankful for for today on 11-11-11 and the weird part is i got done writing this at 11:11am so just to warn ya its a little LONG :)

im thankful for my little brother Lou. i know i put siblings as my thankful day yesterday. but Lou hes a miracle sent from heaven. Alot of people on here knows about him and some of the stuff that he has been thru. but yal dont know ALL of it. Lou was born on Jan 10, 2006. He gave momma the worst labor that she went thru. He was delivered twice. And the cord was wrapped around his neck. so not only did he have fluid on his brain but he was blue, daddy said he looked like a blue berry and his head felt like a water balloon. 3 days later he went under surgery for his 1st shunt Mclanahan didnt know what to think about him. He said we need to watch him carefully bc he honestly didnt know if my little brother was gonna make it or not. at 2 months he started goin to his eye doctor. said he had a little stignatism and he wanted to put glasses on him but since he was little he said it was to early. months he started seein his EIP : Stacy . She helped him get up to some potencial but he still wasnt rolling over. he scooted with ONE arm, he doesnt use his right arm. at 13 months he started goin to therapy over at touch stone therapy for PT. Then a few months later when a spot for OT came in he started it then. And then later on Speech. when Lou was 17 months old Sam was born we still wasnt gettin no where He had to be carried everywhere. His terriable 2s started coming in and lets not forget about his 15 month molars. He was wanting to start potty training then to. but he couldnt walk. so at 22 months His PT said lets put him in a leg brace to strengthen up his right leg and with in a week he started pulling up. with in 2 weeks he started takin baby steps in another 2 weeks he was walkin full speed, falling but he was walking. His therapist was proud and me and momma was proud. at age 3 he started school with Mrs. Charity and Miss. Mona at Child Development center. they wanted to put him in another brace so we got his pediatrictian to write a prescription for it. It said Cebral Right Hempistere on it. This is when we found out he had a touch of cebral Palsy. Dont know much about it but him not liking crowds and loving water so much made some since now. But everyone at CDC feel inlove with lou. They loved him they said he brightens their day. :) then Feb in 2009 Lou expeirenced the worst headache someone could get. He screamed for 15-20 mins straight he vomited clear watery puke. Called momma took em up to CMC and found out his shunt has gone out. hour later he was in emergency surgery to get his pain and get a new shunt in him. recovery went great came back home. Then in 4 months He had another episode. momma got home rushed him back up to the er. this time it wasnt that bad bc we caught it as soon as it was goin out. so the next morning he had another surgery. Recovery went great and they also put in a shunt assistatnce in to let it pump slower and not work so hard. So ya see Lou has been thru sooo much but he doesnt let anything get him down. you have to have patience and be gentle and love him everyday all day. Hes a 5 yr old with a mind of a 2 1/2 yr old. Alot of people dont understand him and alot of people looks at him thinkin gosh he needs some discipline but what they dont know is that hes not your average 5 yr old. Hes a special needs special special yr old. If you read this it'll mean alot so maybe next time you see a child that you think needs some discipline look at them 2 before you judge them. listen to the way they scream, their body frame and even how they talk, or in lous place the way the head is shaped. Some kids cant help how they act. Lou is a 5 yr old with hydrocephalus, cebral palsy, limp in his right leg, dont use his right arm, has stigmatism and on top of all that He has ADHD. I thank God for my miraclle little brother I love you Loubird!

Lou had to have surgery AGAIN

So on June 4th at 12:20 pm Lou started complaining about his head hurting again :( He then said the had to *Puke* he went to the bathroom and it was a watery liquid and whitish, i saw the color and said "OH NO NOT AGAIN" I tried calling momma after i got Lou calmed down and The dispatch person said that she was already gone, great i have a screaming 4 year old and his momma aint at work she has no number where i could reach her what do i do?
So i waited i laid down with Lou got him calmed down then 10 mins later momma pulled in the drive way YAY. i get to go to sleep now, right? Wrong i tell momma how Lou is doin and she says well it sounds like the Shunt again (Ya think thats why i told you)
15 Mins went by and Lou was still compalining about his head hurting. So we went up to CMC Levine Hospital for Children. This was about 2:00 am we got there at 2:18am. We went in they took us back almost immediately and gave Lou a CT and it confirmed that his Shunt malfunctioned again (4 months later after the last one was put in)
They admitted Lou at about 5:30am and we seen MaClanahan at about 7:30am. He said that he will have to have surgery again and he can not let him be released until it is fixed. So we stayed there. At 11:30 we ate lunch and then gave Lou and Sam and me of course a nap :) I was tired. up 27 hours straight, i am NOT youst to that anymore.
And after 3 hours of a wonderful nap i woke up and saw my sister and her fiance sitting up there. while they was up there MaClanahan came in there and said that the surgery will either be tomorow morning or tomorrow evening. speaking of Saturday sometimes. Momma said well great My oldest Son is graduating that morning so of couse momma had to miss the graduation due to Lou having to have surgery again, Nick understood perfectly.
So Saturday Mourning Daddy and Lynn showed up at the hosptial and Lou just got tickled to death. at 6:30 they brought Lou to the operation room and put him to sleep using the sleepin gas, they started IV and off to work they went.
The surgery went well they got done at about 9:30am. They used the same size shunt but used a bigger tube and put in a Shunt Accesory so the shunt wouldnt have to pump so hard.
That afternoon; me, amber, clint, samantha, cody, jerry, and grandma, and nick, daddy and lynn went up to the hospital and surprised Lou and Nick with Nicks graduation cake. They were surprised but Lou was in some pain and wanted momma and Daddy the whole time, and he wanted to see Cody James also.
He is now home, he got to come home on the 6th of June and has been wired up ever since. He is now watching TV and playing some by his self. I dont know if thats the surgery or what made him start doing that. But he has some really good improvements.
He goes next wednesday on the 16th of June to see Amy Kelly for a CT to see if everything is still fine :)

My little brother had to have surgery :(

He started gettin sick and some clear liquid came up it looked alot like water and he would scream and say my head hurts. It happend like 3 days and then we took him to his pediatrictian and they said it might be from a virus that he had before but we didnt know about it but they really didnt know for sure but said to take him and see his neurosurgeon next time it happens, that was on Thrusday. and Friday at about 6:30 Pm lou started screaming again saying his head hurt i gave him a half a dose of motrin *he wouldnt take the other half* and he fell asleep.Then Saturday mourning he started gettin sick again and complaining about his head hurting so momma called the emergency line for maclanahans office and the nurse said to take him up to the hospital because somethin isnt right. Then at 1 he got a CT done and it confirmed his shunt is bad. So at about 4 he went into surgery and out by 6:30 he did great but he was in a lot of pain so they gave him some morphine and some other pain medicine.Then at 4 this mournin they gave him another CT and it showed it started bleeding today and if it dont stop then they will have to do more surgery. They are goin to look for signs thou. they probably arent gonna do another CT unless they really have to because he is so young and they dont want the radiation to hurt him. He got to come home Monday, Feb8, 2010 :) He was fine that night. But on Tuesday evening he started complaining about his head hurting and felt like he was gonna get sick but no visual effect. Momma called the nurse that night and said that it is normal for his head to hurt since he got 15 stiches for the shunt and to switch back from tylenol and motrin for the pain he also ran fever that night and the nurse said that was normal as well. So far so good :) PRAISE GOD :)
